Nightnature UI

I love addons. Seriously. One of my favorite parts of WoW is designing interfaces. I love to make everything neat and shiny so the majority of my screen is empty. Without futher ado, I present NIGHTNATURE UI......

Normal, Resting Interface

Showcasing Opie, one of my favorite addons. It creates several customizable rings which are keybound (The shown ring is bound to the middle mouse button for easy access to shapeshifts and mounts). This addon lets me limit the number of action bars that are shown.

This is a labeled screenshot showing my addons.
Shown Addons:
Bartender 4: Customizable and movable action bars. Staple of most UIs.
Pitbull 3: Highly customizable yet complex unit frames
Prat: Customizable chat mod.
Btex: Adds backround artand allows art packs to be easily added. I'm currently using an LCD skin that can be downloaded from WoWInterface.
Minimap Button Frame: Cleans up my minimap and still allows easy access to minimap buttons.
Recount: Versatile damage meter
Unshown, but nevertheless important:
ButtonFacade: Makes the buttons shiny and generally good looking
Omen: Shows threat--- offtanking would be nearly impossible without this addon.
Deadly Boss Mods: A must-have for raiding and heroics
Itemrack: I use itemrack instead of outfitter because I like the interface better. Also: I'm a druid. 'Nuff said.
AllPlayed: Lets me keep track of resting experiance, play time, and gold for all of my characters.
Quartz: Reskinned and Redesigned cast bar.
Tiptac: Reskinnable and Movable tooltip mod.

How To: Tank as a Feral Druid at Level 80

I'm sure you've seen the ads in trade chat: LF Tank and Healer for such-and-such heroic. This guide will teach you, as a feral druid, to fill the role of a tank.

Stats

As far as gear goes, the stats you want are:

Hit & Expertise>Dodge Rating>Agility>Armor>Stamina>All melee stats (attack power, crit, ...)

After you reach the hit cap (295.2) and the expertise cap (443), you want:

Dodge Rating>Agility>Armor>Stamina>All melee stats (attack power, crit, ...)

Bear tanks do not need defense as the talent Surrvival of the Fittest makes all feral druid tanks defense-capped. Also, rings and weapons that have armor on them are only decent, as this armor does not get modified by the bear form multipliers.

To begin tanking heroics, you need at least 20k armor, 25% dodge, and 20k hp UNBUFFED. Unbuffed means no MotW, no thorns, nothing but dire bear form. More is always better, but these requirements are a bare minimum. If your healer is fully decked out in 25 man Naxx gear, then heroics might be possible with less stats. The success of heroics is greatly dependant on the stats of the tank and the healer; if your healer has sub-par gear, then your tnak should have the gear to make up for it.

Specs:

0/60/11
- Fully Talented

0/55/14 - Fully Talented

- Swap Imp Mangle for King of the Jungle if you want.

Bare miniums - Allows for customization. These are the talents that every bear tank must have.

Rotations:

Lacerate up to 5 stacks, Mangle when its up, Maul when you have more than 50 rage. Keep your lacerate. If there isn't any CC'ed mobs and you feel like you have to burn more rage, add swipe in between mangles and lacerates.

Multiple Mobs:

Mangle on the main target, swipe up to 50 rage, then swipe and maul.

That's it! Now go tank some stuff.

Dual Spec Walkthrough

When patch 3.1 hits, dual specs will be the next great addition to every single WoW character. The LFG channel will be flooded with "Tank/Healer LFG any Heroic" or "DPS/Healer LFG". I suppose you will want to know how dual specs will work, right?

Unlocking Dual Specs

Any WoW character that is at least level 40 will be eligible to obtain a saved secondary spec. You can unlock your second spec by visiting a class trainer. Ask them about dual specs, hand over your 1,ooo gold, and presto! You will now have a blank secondary spec.

Using Dual Specs for the First Time

To view your new second spec, go to your talents and you will see a new tab to the right of the pane. Click it and hit: "Activate This Spec". Once activated, you can spend your talent points as you please and they will be saved. If you look at your action bars, they will be identical to the action bars you previously used for your other spec. If you're saying: "But wait, didn't you say before that actions bars would be saved separately for both specs?" Once you change the action bars for the new spec, they are saved separately from the other action bars.

New Gear Rack Function

Along with the dual specs, Blizzard is releasing a new gear manager. It is pretty basic, as you simply equip the gear that you want saved and click the save button. You then choose an icon for the set and a name and save it. Clicking on the icon will swap your gear to that set. The icon can be placed on action bars.Personally, I will keep using item rack as it has features that are not included in the gear manager from Blizzard.

WoW Insider has a great picture gallery of the new dual spec system. You can view it here.

Patch 3.1- First Impressions

The next WoW content patch is patch 3.1. This patch adds a lot of new content, including: dual specs, the argent tournament, and the new raid, Uldar. The PTR is currently up, and I managed to get a character copied over to test out the new features of the patch.

Dual Specs

Dual specs are adding the ability to switch between two saved specs at will. You will be able to swap specs anywhere except: arenas, battlegrounds, and while in combat. Saved along with the specs are action bars and glyphs. It will cost a flat fee of 1,000 gold to enable dual specs. Currently on the PTR, you start out with fresh specs and swapping specs drains all of your mana. I'm not sure if it will also drain all of the rage/energy/runic power. Changing specs has a five second cast time. Pictured guide to dual specs coming soon.

Argent Tournament

The Argent Tournament is a new permanent world event in Icecrown. On the PTR right now, a few dailies are available to help build the colosseum. I havent gotten to expieriment with it much, but it seems that rewards such as mounts and vanity pets will be availible.

Uldar

This is the new raid instance. It is much harder than OS, Naxx, EoE, and VoA, so I won't be able to say much about it, as my current gear is a far cry away from being able to go to Uldar. There is a 10 man and a 25 man version, so I hope to start raiding soon and eventually go to Uldar.

More details to come soon!
